James C. McDonald Rejoins McDonald ComputerCorporation as Chief Technology Officer.

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 19, 1998--

Executive to lead technology initiatives for increasing demand in

B&C servicing market

McDonald Computer Corp. (MCC) announced today that James C. McDonald has rejoined the company as Chief Technology Officer. His new responsibilities

will be to establish and articulate the company's tactical and strategic technology vision for its core servicing system, Servicing/T.I.M.E(R). In addition to overseeing the technology direction and implementation, McDonald will focus on the company's expected growth in servicing for sub-prime mortgage lenders.

"The popularity of B&C paper continues to create tremendous opportunities for mortgage originators," said James C. McDonald. "However, while many lenders want to enter the sub-prime market, they don't want the hassles associated with servicing this loan type. Default servicing, investor accounting, and fee management are major systems requirements for servicing sub-prime paper. Setting up a servicing system that meets these requirements is expensive and time-consuming. McDonald Computer can provide lenders an opportunity to enjoy the benefits making sub-prime loans without the headaches of servicing them." The company also recently announced a plan for servicers that would enable them to convert to its Servicing/T.I.M.E(R) servicing system in just 90-days. The conversion plan is specifically designed for servicers scrambling to meet last-minute Y2K deadlines.

"I'm looking forward to stirring up the servicing industry," said McDonald. "I expect our company will grow significantly over the next twelve months. Our growth will come from increasing demand for sub-prime servicing as well as those in need of Y2K compliance."

McDonald first joined the company in 1988 as a programmer analyst and worked his way through the ranks to become Director of New Systems Development. As MCC chief designer, McDonald spearheaded the development of its residential mortgage loan origination system, Origination/ T.I.M.E(R).

Prior to rejoining the company, McDonald was an analyst for the Architecture and Planning Group of DTE Energy where he was played a key role in the company's Information Systems strategic planning.

Before his tenure with DTE Energy, McDonald was Senior Consultant with BDO Seidman where he was project manager and lead developer in Web/Internet development, client/server development, and Information Systems technology projects.

McDonald also worked as a Consultant with Arthur Andersen & Co.'s Management Information Consulting division specializing in systems integration and distributed computing technology.

Celebrating its twenty-first year in business, McDonald Computer Corporation is a leading provider of servicing systems to the mortgage and financial industries.
