Mechanics Taps Outside EFT Firm.

In order To fuel its growing electronic funds transfer program, The Mechanics Bank, Richmond, Calif., has contracted with U.S. Processing Inc. (USPI), a Milwaukee-based, third-party EFT processing firm, for ATM terminal driving and MasterMoney debit-card services.

The Mechanics Bank has 23 Interbold ATMs. USPI will use an on-line interface to the bank's in-house Unisys mainframe running an Information Technology Inc. (ITI) Premier II software system.
