Denton Area Teachers Credit Union has seen a whopping increase in checking accounts as part of an Olympics-themed promotion.

The "Go for the Gold" effort was designed to boost relationships while also providing funds for liquidity needs, as DATCU's lending has surged like so many other credit unions'.

The result: a 290% increase in checking accounts during the three months of the promotion compared with its normal volume of new checking accounts.
