BARGERSVILLE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 26, 1999--

Shareholders of First Community Bancshares, Inc. (OTC BB:FCYB) have re-elected two directors to new terms that expire with the 2002 annual meeting.

Elected to new three-year terms were Frank D. Neese, president of Indiana Securities,

LLC., in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Roy Martin Umbarger, president of Roy Umbarger & Sons, Inc. in Bargersville, Indiana.

Other directors, whose terms continue to future years, include: Albert R. Jackson Jr., retired president of First National Bank of North Vernon, Indiana; Eugene W. Morris, president of Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance of Franklin, Indiana; Dr. Merrill M. Wesemann, chairman of the board of First Community Bancshares and a physician in Franklin, Indiana; and Albert R. Jackson, III, vice chairman and chief executive officer of First Community Bancshares and president and CEO of its subsidiary, First Community Bank and Trust.
