Columbia, S.C.-Based First National Plans Six New Charleston-Area Branches.

Aug. 6--South Carolina's fourth-largest banking company is poised for an aggressive expansion into the Charleston area in a move that promises to intensify local competition.

Columbia-based First National Corp. says one of its two bank subsidiaries will open its first full-service branch in Charleston next year, initially employing nearly 30 people.
