Buyout of National Commerce Financial Could End Durham, N.C., Bank's Brand Name.

May 8--Central Carolina Bank's parent company, National Commerce Financial Corp., could soon be acquired by another bank, possibly spelling the end of the Durham-born CCB brand.

CCB's "back office" operations, such as accounting, could shrink from their current 600 Durham employees, as well.
