Atlanta-Based SunTrust Banks May Bid on Memphis, Tenn.-Based Bank.

May 8--SunTrust Banks declined to comment Friday on published reports it could be a bidder for Memphis-based National Commerce Financial. But analysts said there's obvious appeal for Atlanta-based SunTrust.
Buying the banking and consulting company would put SunTrust into North Carolina for the first time and add attractive markets in South Carolina, said analysts Jefferson Harralson and Christopher Marinac.
