The bankers quoted in the June 7th issue continue to claim that credit unions enjoy immense competitive advantages over banks. There seems to be grave concerns at the state and national levels that the success which credit unions enjoy is at the expense of banks and even at the expense of smaller credit unions.
The comments of bankers in that issue were well scripted and were strangely almost identical in expressing these concerns. I must admit, though, that it is confusing at times to reconcile these statements with the fact that the FDIC just recen
