Apr. 5--MUMBAI, India -- Public sector banks have lost share in bank deposits to private banks during the quarter ended December '05. According to the latest RBI data, the share of nationalised banks as a group, accounting for 49.6 percent as of September '05, dipped to 48.8 percent of the aggregate deposits in December '05.
State Bank of India and its associates accounted for 24.3 percent of deposits as compared to 24.6 percent in Sepetmber '05. The shares of foreign Banks, regional rural banks and other scheduled commercial banks or private banks in aggregate deposits
