Bank of the Ozarks Acquires Site for Third Conway Office.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 2002

Bank of the Ozarks (Nasdaq:OZRK) has acquired a site for a third Conway office at 2885 Prince Street. The bank expects to start construction within approximately 90 days.

The bank is currently open in

a temporary facility at 803 Harkrider and has already received approval to build a second office at the corner of Washington Avenue and Highway 64. The bank expects to put another temporary facility at the Washington Avenue site while the permanent facility is under construction there.

Located at the southeast corner of Salem Road and Prince Street, the third Conway office will be a 2,500 square foot, full-service facility with three drive-in lanes and a drive-up ATM. This office will provide customers with convenient access off both Prince and Salem streets.

In commenting on this new office, John C. Stanton, President of the Bank's Conway Division stated, "We are excited at the prospect of having three Conway offices opened in 2002 or early 2003. When we said Bank of the Ozarks was coming to Conway in a meaningful way, we were serious. We are now open in the downtown area, are about to start construction on Highway 64, and can now move forward on building a third office at the corner of Prince and Salem.
