Mercedes-Benz aims to regain its position as No. 1 in the medium-premium segment with its face-lifted E class sedan.
Last year, the German brand's core model was toppled from the top spot in western Europe by the Audi A6.
"We aim to be No. 1 in the segment again," Thomas Weber, DaimlerChrysler's head of research and technology, said at the car's launch this month in Munich. DaimlerChrysler owns Mercedes.
Mercedes' weapon to regain the segment's crown is better technology for the same price.
"We have adde
