Apr. 14--NEW YORK -- Ford Motor Co. treated newsmen gathered for the New York Auto Show last week to a preview of its 2005 gas/electric Escape sport-utility vehicle that comes out this fall.
Ford took scribes on a jaunt in the hybrid to an appropriate locale, Battery Park.
The trip was part of a larger project called "Manhattan on a tank of gas," in which the automaker drove a hybrid Escape throughout the borough to determine how many miles it could travel on one 15-gallon tan
