Concept cars: Civic Type R, Civic 3-door

The Civic Type R adopts the bold styling of the eighth-generation Civic lower-medium hatchback that debuted at the IAA in Frankfurt in September in its five-door guise.

Powered by a 200hp, 2.0-liter gasoline engine, the Civic Type R is based on the three-door Civic that debuts as a near-production concept at Geneva.

It goes on sale early next year and will be built alongside the Civic at Honda's factory in Swindon, central England.
