(CNI, 16200 Park Row, Houston, TX 77084; Tel: 713/529-7264) and Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) have signed an engineering services agreement to commercialize single- wall carbon nanotubes, a technology called buckytubes, named after Buckminster Fuller's geodesic domes. The technology can be used to create electrodes for batteries and fuel cells. Ken Smith, a company founder, says the nanotubes can be used as catalyst supports as well.
