Mexico -- IMPCO Technologies, Inc., Cerritos, Calif., announced in September that the state of Jalisco in Mexico has approved the use of a specialized IMPCO alternative-fuel system for use on new state vehicles. In Phase One, 600 vehicles of a total 3,500 vehicles will be equipped with the LPG fuel system. Total value of the planned 3,500 conversions is in excess of $4.4 million. The Phase One conversion is scheduled to take place this calendar year, which represents an important step in Mexico's strategy to improve air quality and reduce dependency on foreign sources of energy.
