OPINION: Hydrogen Car Offers Mighty Smooth Ride.

May 3--I drove a million-dollar car Thursday.

It wasn't from Italy, and it wasn't a race car.

It was powered by water -- or hydrogen, to be more exact.

Honda's FCX runs on a fuel cell that converts gaseous hydrogen into electricity. That makes it a zero-emissions vehicle, the only exhaust being water vapor.

The FCX runs much like a four-cylinder car. It gets up to speed quickly and effortlessly, corners well and stops on a dime.
