Worsted yarn: Rebound in yarn prices

Imported worsted yarn prices in Japan were stagnant as an effect of drastic moves of the Australian wool marker prices, but began to rise in June. Market prices of imported wool were 1,300 yen/kg for 48 count two-ply yarn and 1,400 yen for 60 count two-ply yarn. The Eastern Market Indicator, which

is considered the index of Australian wool prices, dropped by 12% during the period from April 29 to May 22, but rebounded by 9% on June 5. In line with this move, both 48 count and 60 count two-ply yarns have gained an uptrend.
