Vietnam: Important State-Owned Firms Under Prime Minister's Direct Guidance

19 important state-owned firms in Vietnam including textiles are going to be placed under the direct guidance of the prime minister. These firms include six major firms (electric power, oil, gas, coal, minerals, post, telecommunications, ship building and textiles & apparel manufacturing) and

13 public corporations (navigation, aviation, railroad, rubber, cement, steel, chemicals, food in the north, food in the south, coffee, paper making, tobacco and the investment development of government-owned capital).

The Prime Minister will directly determine the reorganization, dissolution as well as the appointment and dismissal of government officials. Prime Minister also decides on the management target, strategy, long-term plan and the scope of management.
