The triennial Approved International Fair (AIF), AAMA-TEX, Asia Apparel Machinery & Accessories, incorporating the Textile Machinery and Accessories and Leather Machinery & Accessories Exhibition, will be held from March 20th to 23rd at the Singapore Expo, and is a proven market platform for suppliers to the garment, textile and leather manufacturing industry in Asia.
AAMA-TEX 2007 is organized by the Sewing Machine Traders Association (Singapore), and is an Approved International Fair (AIF), a quality mark awarded by the Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau in recognition of its high international participation of exhibitors and visitors.
Eighty-five percent of this exhibition space has been reserved by prominent industry names such as SWF, Sunstar, Feiyue, JUKI, Barudan, Pegasus, Hikari, Ngai Shing, Kansai Special, Brother, Naomoto, Veit, Yamato and Protex, to list a few. Who's who in the industry will be represented at the exhibition, to take advantage of the regional and international reach of AAMA-TEX, coming from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam etc.
Teo Kim Chuan, President of The Sewing Machine Traders Association of Singapore, says, "This excellent response to AAMA-TEX 2007 testifies to the event's top-quality regional and international reach. According to the latest figures from the U.S. Department of Commerce, more than 35% of apparel imports by the U.S. market are from South and Southeast Asia. Garment producers from these regions are also major exporters into the EU. Thus, leading manufacturers and suppliers of garment manufacturing technology are buoyant about the region's prospects."
Since 1989, AAMA-TEX has been the definitive one-stop venue for both buyers and sellers to do serious business. This was evident from the last exhibition in 2004, in which 233 exhibitors from 25 economies attracted over 5,000 buyers. The show in 2007 looks set to reach new landmarks in terms of exhibitor participation as well as visitors.
