For almost a decade, Dilo Systems has been a successful partner for the nonwovens industry providing complete production lines. Numerous developments from Dilo aimed at increasing fiber throughput, at improving web homogeneity and at increasing efficiency have significantly contributed to this success.

Dilo has been able to complete its delivery program for all production methods by building partnerships with companies specializing in upand downstream equipment.

Among engineering companies, Dilo Systems has achieved a leading position worldwide as general contractor for the design, installation and commissioning of complete lines to produce nonwoven fabrics. The correct choice of line components becomes more important with the increase in applications for nonwoven fabrics and the introduction of new web forming and bonding technologies. With a wide range of potential requirements many options for line configurations exist. Hence each of them is designed specifically by Dilo Systems to fulfill customer's expectations.

The know-how of Dilo Systems in the different process technologies and the subsequent product advantages relative to the particular applications area are significant factors in any successful project. This is supported by experience gained during more than 130 successful line installations. From thermo-bonding lines to spunlacing and needlepunching, all staple fiber nonwovens technologies are considered in these evaluations. Its customers benefit from this knowledge not only in their decision-making process but also during order processing, delivery, installation, commissioning and service.

New companies and groups join the existing competitors in the field of nonwoven textiles.

Dilo has been able to further strengthen its position by acquiring the majority share in renowned Temafa GmbH.

Temafa offers the complete machine program from bale opening to optimum fiber blending, primarily for the nonwovens industry but also for spinning mills. The production program furthermore includes feeding equipment for cards and for web-forming machines, preparation systems for natural fibers, including special machines and systems for the waste regeneration industry, for the extraction of natural fibers and for the processing of glass and bast fibers and linters.

By integrating Temafa into the Dilo group, Dilo has rounded off its manufacturing program. Dilo is now able to offer complete nonwoven production lines from bale opening to needling with one responsibility.

Spinnbau is the leading specialist for carding machines and for several decades has focused on cards for the nonwovens industry.

Worldwide Spinnbau carding machines are renowned for all sectors of nonwoven production and are the central component for controlling productivity and quality in production lines. Spinnbau is the supplier for all nonwoven card types with many variations for all applications and final products. The carding machine program comprises universal cards with single and double doffer, random cards with random and condenser rolls, specialty tandem cards and airlay cards. Special experience has been gained with cards in working widths up to 5,100 mm and with high-speed cards providing web speeds of up to 400 m/min.

In the field of direct web forming without cross-lapper, Spinnbau cards with large working widths and high working speeds have a leading position. The "Delta-Card" principle with a triple roller transfer between breast and main section is an important invention increasing performance and improving web homogeneity. Especially in water-entangling production lines the "Delta-Card" sets new standards for quality and efficiency.

The demand for better uniformity of the webs as well as for better use of the fiber material led to the development of the "Profi-Line CV1" system. Special disc rollers compress and draft the incoming web, forming a structure with exactly defined thin areas in equidistant intervals.

The crosslapper positions said thin areas exactly at the batt edges on the floor apron. The entire process is controlled by a central control station as well as a closed loop control system including the following passages of needling in conjunction with a monitor utilizing the operator's menu. The result is a web with minimum weight variation, hence reducing the major cost factor fiber consumption considerably.

Changes in the competitor's structure and in partner companies have induced Dilo to develop its own crosslapper series in order to become an independent premium supplier in this important sector. The "Hyperlayer" has recently been installed in a working width of 2.5 by 3.5 m in its textile research center and successfully tested in all fields of application. Its tests have shown that speed increases of up to 50% compared to conventional cross-lappers are possible without any loss in quality.

This lapper has been designed beside high standards in layering speed for ultimate layering precision and will surely capture a place in this segment by eliminating the bottle neck of conventional web lines and thus tuning the over all economics.

Dilo, the parent company, is the leading specialist worldwide in the manufacturing of needle looms and offers for each needling task an optimum machine solution. Dilo has sold numerous needle looms to more than 60 countries. Many inventions and new developments by the company have initiated technological steps, such as the "DI-LOOP" and "DI-LOUR" technology, the tubular needling techniques "Rontex" and Beltex". Dilo is the leader in technological innovations and the productivity of standard universal needle looms of the "DI-LOOM" series with highest stroke frequencies of over 3,000 per min. and needle densities of over 30,000 needles/m of working width. Dilo needle looms are renowned for their quality and reliability and are manufactured with working widths up to 16 m.
