Leveraging on world-class facilities and infrastructure, the Japan Sewing Machinery Manufacturers Association (JASMA) announced that the 9th presentation of the International Apparel Machinery Trade Show, JIAM 2008 would be held for the first time outside Japan in Singapore from May 13-16, 2008.

Under the theme "The Gateway to Advancing Technology from JIAM to the World", the four-day event will showcase the latest and most advanced machinery and equipment from world's leading manufacturers and suppliers, demonstrating highly innovative and cutting-edge technology that provide solutions for the apparel industry. On display will be a comprehensive array of apparel machinery, systems and solutions used in the planning/design, to cutting/spreading, sewing, embroidery/printing, as well as finishing, inspecting, handling and packing. Distribution/logistics services and IT system for the apparel industry will also be featured at JlAM 2008.
Following the elimination of export quotas coupled with the significant shift of manufacturing activities to meet the challenges of the competitive global marketplace, Asia has come to account for more than 70% of global production. JASMA selected Singapore for the location of JIAM 2008, with the confidence that the island's airline connectivity, dynamic business environment and cosmopolitan lifestyle will be most ideal to attract the buyers from the region, in particular, Southeast Asia and South Asia. JIAM 2008 will serve as an essential bridge linking Asian exporters with the global apparel market.
JIAM 2005 was a resounding success in Osaka, Japan with a gross area of 24,930 square meters and 285 international exhibitors from 19 countries. JIAM 2008 is poised for a better showing, using 30,000 square meters of Singapore Expo (Halls 2-4).

It is designed so that programmed data of patterns appear authentically on the sewing materials, thus ensuring precise pattern stitching is available even by entry-level operators requiring the least skill and experience. The IP-410 touch-panel offers operator-friendly operation. It is provided with a wide screen and programmable functions, such as stitch shape, needle thread tension, enlargement or reduction ratio, maximum sewing speed and the number of stitches at a glance. For data edit operations, detailed data is shown on the screen simply by lightly pressing the display icon, thus contributing to dramatically enhanced efficiency. Moreover, it is equipped as standard with a needle thread clamp device that not only prevents slip-off of a needle thread and thread tangling-up on the wrong side of the product at the beginning of sewing, but also prevents the needle thread from being soiled. Among other remarkable functions are active tension and programmable intermediate presser.
Well-known active tension has been introduced to the needle thread tension controller. With the device, pinpoint changes in the needle thread tension during sewing are possible. The needle thread tension, therefore, can be set in conjunction with the material thickness, and can be corrected according to the direction of sewing on a stitch-by-stitch basis through the operation panel. Since the needle thread tension is reproducible, supporting a broader range of sewing conditions, the time required for setup changing upon process changeover can be reduced.
To support the sewing of multilayered parts of materials, the lower dead point height of the intermediate presser can be changed without steps during sewing. (0 to 7.0 mm) The intermediate presser can now clamp the material without fail, thereby preventing by maintaining the intermediate height as desired according to the material thickness.

The LH-4100 series high-and-long arm machine with semi-dry head, driven by direct transmission, upgraded lockstitch model, equipped with functions of changeover switch to split needle-bar and reliable new thread trimming mechanism, offers maximum 4,000 rpm high-speed operation, independent right & left thread tension controllers, as well as easy shifting gears between bottom feeder and needle feeder.

Only simple adjustment and changing necessary gauge parts is required in shifting between needle-feed and bottom-feed.
Added to the existing stitching control panel CP-160, multifunctional new type of IP-160 has come up with a variety of functions including sewing data transmission and production management system.

4-Needle, Feed-up-the-Arm, Interlock Stitch Machines for Flatseaming
Flat seams produced by 4 needles and 6 threads are strong but still soft on the skin without any uncomfortable touch, and achieve neatly finished products with no yarn distortion on the fabric.
Thanks to Pegasus' unique presser foot with the groove on its underside, the machines easily sew the difference on the cross seam sections of the overlapped areas. Therefore, the overlapped areas in tape binding and lace attaching operations on the fabric, such as briefs and panties, are flatly and beautifully finished, so they feel gentle on the skin without any uncomfortable touch.

The W1500N series with easier-touse features is a modified model from the best-selling W1500 series of interlock stitch machines.
One machine can produce both tight and soft stitches. The texture of stitches can be changed by switching the direction of the installed cam (up or down).
Excellent oil blocking effectiveness protects your important sewn products from oil stains. Equipped with an oil blocking mechanism in each related area, such as the oil seal and the needle bar enclosed in the machine, the W1500N series protects sewn products from oil stains, thus reducing stain removal operations.
