Vietnam: Expanding Trade With China

The trade value between Vietnam and China was US$2.5 billion in 1991, but expanded to US$8.7 billion in 2005. The trade value in the first half of 2006 was US$4.57 billion and the expected annual trade value is US$9 billion. The trade value was scheduled to boost to US$10 billion by 2010; however,

it is likely that the achievement of this target will be accelerated. Among 62 countries investing in Vietnam, China ranks the 14th in the amount of investment.
