Steady population growth and longer-than-national-average work longevity are expected to increase the labor force in Wisconsin through 2008, according to a report from the state's Division of Research and Analysis. Wisconsin, which already has one of the nation's highest labor participation

rates, should see a rate of 74.4 percent within six years, the DRA reported. Wisconsin's participation rate has grown from 60.7 percent in 1970 to 72.5 percent in 2000. The national average rose from 60 percent to 66 percent during that time.
