Which Sources on the Internet Provide Full Text of Cases and Statutes?

There are two types of sources on the Internet that provide full text of cases and statutes: free and fee-based.

Three fee-based sources on the Internet that provide full text of cases and statutes are LexisNexis, Westlaw,

and LawGuru.

There is an abundance of resources on the Internet that provide full text of cases and statutes for free. FindLaw offers a page that links to the full text of state and federal cases and statutes. Nolo.com also directs you to each state’s statutes in its Statutes and Cases Law Center. Prairienet, a community information network affiliated with the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, offers a page of links to sites containing full-text state constitutions, statutes, legislation, session laws, and administrative rules for most states. You can also get the full text of cases for free at LexisOne.

Most states have their statutes online, which you can find by performing a search on Google or Yahoo! for "state statutes" and including the state of interest in the search, for example "Kentucky state statutes."
