Mobile App Round-Up: Halloween Edition

If there's ever a time to have fun with mobile apps, it's Halloween. We scared up a collection of apps for various mobile platforms to keep you in horror for the holiday.

Haloween Screamy (Android -- Peak Interactive; $0.99)

One component of fun on Halloween is the sounds. Screams. Rattling chains. Witches cackles. Ghosts moaning. Halloween Screamy supplies all the sounds of the night with a sound machine, sound effects and streaming music. The app also has a strobe light to add to the atmosphere and a wiki page to give background to some of those sounds and traditions.

Halloween Photo Editor (Blackberry -- Elena Vinokurova; $1.99)

Edit some haunting elements into your photos. Add a Jack 'O Lantern or black cat to those pics of your family for a little fun on Halloween. This photo editor has four Halloween filters: Full moon; pumpkin carving; zombie fog and blood sense. In addition to the images, there are 16 Halloween-themed photo frames and 11 clip art images. The app has photo tools that let you crop, adjust brightness, auto-contrast, flip, rotate and resize images.

Zombieville USA 2 (iPhone -- Mika Mobile; $0.99)

A little bit less realistic than current TV show "The Walking Dead" but you can live to fight another zombie yourself in Zombieville USA 2. In this zombie shooter you're armed with a handful of weapons including a shotgun and flamethrower to fight off the bloody hoard of zombies. Work your way toward earning a first aid kit in your inventory so you can patch yourself up and continue. The addictive gameplay shouldn't get in the way of your work, but will provide a nice diversion during downtime.

Finger Guillotine Free (Windows Phone -- Deveci Games; Free)

It's not strictly Halloween, but the guillotine leaves strong imagery of scary settings. In Finger Guillotine you test your reflexes by touching the screen to trigger the blade and removing your finger in time to save it. If you're too slow you'll get to see some blood.
