Free Booklet Available from the Southern Cypress Manufactures Association.

The Southern Cypress Manufacturers Association (SCMA), a Pittsburgh-based trade group, has published Versatile, Distinctive Cypress, a free, 12-page technical guide for building and design professionals working with cypress. In this booklet, readers will find information on installation guidelines

for cypress, and instructions for selecting primer and paint, using vapor retarders to prevent excess moisture, and choosing nail lengths for siding over sheathing. Technical illustrations and photos showcase a variety of techniques and applications for cypess siding, inrcluding nailing methods, patterns, and diagrams for installing inside and outside corner boards.
