Ran into this and have noticed it around the message boards recently, I'm not sure if it's a 2008 problem or not, I do know that when it happens it causes and error in the 2007 and 2008 pdf converter for sending reports and invoices via e-mail attached as a pdf file.
What happens is that it errors out and does not send your document. It is my understanding that Intuit is working on it and will release a patch that fixes it. The fix for now is to go into your control panel and look at your 'installed printers or fax printers.' You'll see in this list, a QuickBooks PDF Converter. Delete this printer and then exit out of this screen. Go back to your QuickBooks and attempt the sending the pdf document again. QuickBooks will automatically reinstall the PDF converter and you are ready to roll.

I also want to thank Dennis who replied 2 posts ago. I did make an error, QuickBooks 2007 DOES work with VISTA...pre '07 DOES NOT work with VISTA. We do read your comments, if you have questions or would like to see more on a specific part of QB or have a specific question we would love to cover it in this blog.
Thanks,

Hi Brandon,
Apologies for a touch of self promotion here, but I think this is relevant to your post and will be helpful to folks experiencing this problem. We have just launched a free fix for the pdf error in Quickbooks. billFLO is a custom built application that integrates with Quickbooks to generate pdf invoices. The user interface also allows users to customize the email message and send invoices individually or in batches. We'd love to get your feedback on it: www.getbillflo.com
