Have multiple data files within QuickBooks?

Thursday, October 4 2007

My apology for my lengthy delay in posting...

I received a question the other day regarding having multiple data files within QuickBooks and not being able to open them from the 'No company open' screen.  This is a preference I believe I took for granted or just forgot that some people are not aware of.  It some preset at, I believe 4...meaning that at any given time you can see the last 4 QuickBooks files that have been opened.

To change this you need to log into one of your QB files and then go to 'File' in the upper left corner then down to 'Open Previous Company' then down to 'Set Number of Previous Companies..."

Now your set - you can set this at whatever works for you...bookkeepers, accountants, CPAs especially use this a lot do flip back and forth to the data files they work on on an ongoing basis...

Hope this helps someone...

Thanks - until next time...
