Deloitte & Touche elected Mark E. Hayden as a partner in its Forensic & Dispute Services practice. Hayden, who will be based in Los Angeles, will work with litigators and in-house counsels on commercial litigation, intellectual property valuation, M&A disputes and solvency disputes. Hayden previously was a partner in the investigative and dispute services practice of another Big Four accounting firm.
Steven Kreit joined Eisner LLP of New York as a partner. He serves entrepreneurial growth companies. Eisner has FY05 net revenue of $84 million, 63 partners, 378 total staff and three offices.
Haskell & White of Irvine, Calif., admitted John M. Wyson as partner. He specializes in corporate tax. Wyson is a 12-year veteran of Deloitte. H&W has seven partners and more than 55 total staff.
J.H. Cohn of Roseland, N.J., appointed Robert DeMeola to partner-in-charge (PIC) of its New York office and practice. Previously, he served as PIC of the firm's real estate practice group. J.H. Cohn has FY05 net revenue of $122.9 million, 95 partners, 646 total staff and eight offices.
KPMG's board of directors elected Timothy P. Flynn, 48, as chairman and chief executive. He succeeds Eugene D. O'Kelly, 53, who stepped down to devote attention to his recent diagnosis of advanced stage cancer. O'Kelly was chairman and chief executive since 2002. The board also elected John B. Veihmeyer, 49, as deputy chairman and COO. Veihmeyer succeeds Joseph Mauriello, 60, who relinquishes his position, since the firm's partnership agreement provides that the chairman and deputy chairman are elected jointly. Mauriello will remain a partner of the firm and will stick to his plans, announced previously, to retire in 2006. The elections were ratified by the entire partnership. Flynn and Veihmeyer will serve six-year terms. Flynn previously served as vice chair for A&A Services and had operating responsibility for the firm's audit risk advisory services and financial advisory services practices. Prior to that, he served as vice chair, human resources. He has also served as global MP - audit for KPMG International. As the global MP, he chaired the global audit steering group, and served as a member of the international executive team of KPMG International. Veihmeyer was formerly MP of KPMG's Washington office and mid-Atlantic area MP for Audit and Risk Advisory Services. In late 2003, he was elected to KPMG's board of directors and named chairman of the KPMG Foundation.
