In Chicago, Paul Snyder succeeds Michael Lavin as KPMG MP-midwest area, effective Oct. 1. Lavin, 56, who was area MP for the past 9 years, retires Jan. 3, 2003. Snyder, a member of the firm's U.S. board, continues as Chicago OMP.

Amy Kaplan, New York, succeeds James McBride as MP-- marketing

and business development at Deloitte & Touche. She reports to Richard Fineberg, national MP-marketplace services. McBride is retiring. Previously, Kaplan was deputy MP-- enterprise risk services and founder/ND-internal audit cosourcing.

Peter Horowitz leaves PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was sr.MD-global public relations, to join Deloitte Consulting as global director-public relations. Horowitz, employed by PwC for 10 years, will lead all external communications for DC, which will be renamed Braxton.

NEW MPs: Jerry Hurt succeeds Henry "Sonny" Altman at Deming, Malone, Livesay & Ostroff, Louisville, Ky., effective Sept. 30. Two days earlier, Altman reaches the firm's mandatory retirement age of 66. The firm has 68 staff including 12 partners and about $7 million revenue.
