Rudolph Giuliani, soon to retire as New York City mayor, will join Ernst & Young in an undisclosed executive role. Two close aides, Tony Carbonetti (chief of staff) and Michael Hess (corporation counsel), are joining Giuliani.

Tom Murphy, Minneapolis, joins RSM McGladrey as exec. vp-manufacturing

and wholesale distribution. For the past two years, Murphy was vp-cfo of Hitchcock Industries, Minneapolis, an aerospace industry manufacturer. He succeeds Duane Oest, who leads RSM's manufacturing practice in Chicago. In other moves, RSM hired Louise Jalma as exec. vp-national marketing, replacing Larry Bildstein, who withdrew to form his own consulting firm; Jim Blayney was promoted to sr. vp-tax and consulting, a new position; Kimpa Moss was promoted to exec. vpnational Tax; and Dan Trigg was promoted to exec. vp-financial institutions. Both Moss and Trigg come from the Central Illinois practice.

Phil Rivett, London, succeeds Harvey Bazaar as PricewaterhouseCoopers' global leader of the capital markets group. Bazaar, who retired June 30, becomes coo of New York-based DML, an independent provider of customized outsourced and technology solutions to the private equity industry.
