Beard Miller Co. Moves Into New Jersey With Radics Deal; Merger Enhances Strengths In Financial...

Beard Miller Co., based in Reading, Pa., merged in a $2.5 million New Jersey firm in March to dig deeper roots among its clients in the Garden State and to bolster its SEC and financial institutions practices.

Radics & Co. of Pine Brook, N. J. adds four partners and 20 staff to Beard Miller,

The deal was attractive to Beard Miller because of the R&Co.'s New Jersey location and its complementary specialties in financial institutions and SEC work, said Beard Miller Chairman Lamar Stoltzfus. R&Co. wanted access to Beard Miller's more robust services, such as its SOX expertise. Succession was also an issue: three of R&Co.'s partners are in their 50s; the other is in his 40s.

R&Co. will take on the Beard Miller name. No cash was exchanged. The deal will close April 1. Beard Miller is a member of the BDO Alliance. R&Co. was not affiliated with an association.

Beard Miller now has 55 partners and more than 350 employees. In addition to its offices in Reading and Pine Brook, the firm also has locations in the Pennsylvania cities of Allentown, Hanover, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Pittsburgh and York, as well as a Baltimore office.
