According to a travel insurance trade group, US Travel Insurance Association (UStiA), more people than ever are opting for travel insurance.
Says Brad Finkle, president of the UStiA, travel insurance for leisure travelers has increased five-fold since 9/11. The 2007 Travel Insurance Market Survey, based on industry and government statistics, determined that about half of Americans who traveled internationally purchased per-trip insurance.
