Jamba Juice celebrates 10th anniversary with entry to Florida

San Francisco-based Jambs Juice recently celebrated a decade of serving up smoothies, juicy, soups and healthy snacks. The milestone coincides with the company's foray into the state of Florida. A unit will open in South Miami this month, and a second outlet at the Whole Foods market in Ft. Lauderdale

will open this August. In the past decade, under the direction of founder Kirk Perron, the company has grown to 300 stores in 17 states. In the past five years, Jambs Juice has grown revenues by 3,200% and total units by 2,500%. In 1999, Jambs acquired its largest competitor, Utah-based Zuka Juice, which added 96 locations and five new markets to Jamba's ranks. Last January, the company hired Paul Clayton, former president of Burger King's North America division, to be its new c.e.o. Clayton's charge is to continue to grow the chain.
