to implement fuel cell technology.
The Sheraton New York will soon feature a fuel cell like this one at the Sheraton Edison, NJ.
The Sheraton New York hotel & Towers will become the first hotel in Manhattan
Starwood hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with FuelCell Energy Inc.'s distribution partner, PPL EnergyPlus, to install a 250-kilowatt Direct FuelCell power plant at the midtown landmark.
Delivery for the unit is scheduled for this summer and the DFC power plant will be dedicated shortly thereafter.
The fuel cell power plant is expected to provide about 10 percent of the power and domestic hot water needs of the hotel. Similar installations were made last year by FCE at the Sheraton Edison hotel and the Sheraton Parsippany in New Jersey.
