The power of branding is an important tool for hotel owners and operators. Some smart hotel companies, like Choice Hotels International and Prime Hospitality, use their choice of vendors to further leverage their own brand power. Both companies have forged strong alliances with Panasonic Hospitality,
"For important products like TVs and bedding, we look for companies that offer top consumer brands," says Brad Douglas, vice president of strategic partnerships for Choice Hotels International. About two years ago, Choice named Panasonic an Endorsed Vendor for hospitality televisions.
"By partnering with Panasonic and its line of TVs, everyone receives a benefit," says Douglas. "For example, Choice customers get an enhanced guest experience and exposure to products with which they're comfortable and probably already use."
Panasonic was also able to meet the other criteria Douglas and his team have created for companies to become Choice endorsed vendors. Among other things, Douglas cites Panasonic's financial stability, its ability to serve Choice's 3,4000 franchisees nationwide and the Energy Star rating on all Panasonic TVs.
