The Latitude XT 12.1" convertible tablet computer has been introduced by computer company Dell Inc (Nasdaq:DELL), with prices starting
Dell said the Latitude XT is the industry's only convertible table to be under 4lb and incorporate pen and capacitive touch capability, which senses the touch of a finger with no pressure needed for the system to recognise input. It is reportedly the forerunner to emerging multi-touch capabilities which enable the use of more than one finger for tasks such as repositioning or zooming into a picture.
Dell claimed the Latitude XT offers touch response times faster than the Lenovo X61T1 and has advanced digital palm rejection technology and digitiser technology up to ten times more durable than competing resistive technologies.
The Latitude XT also includes Intel Core 2 Solo and Duo ULV processors, up to 64 GB solid state drive, up to 120 GB hard drive, ATI Radeon X1250 UMA integrated graphics, full-size keyboard with dual pointing, optional media base for docking and optional media and an optional battery slice for up to 9.5 hours of battery life. It also features an optional daylight viewing display and is reportedly one of the thinnest and lightest convertibles available.
