The big for-fee job services offer tools, extensions on your listing, e-mail marketing campaigns, and other add-ons to the listing or search service that you buy.
For example, Yahoo! HotJobs offers an added-cost service called HotJobs Direct. With this you can design an email campaign to let job seekers know about your company and your openings. You can define criteria to reach selected Yahoo! users who have signed up to receive targeted career-related information.
Add-on services at CareerBuilder include Smart Job, which matches up to 25 resumes against your job ad – so they take on the screening function (for $125, on top of your job listing fee) and send you what they find to be the most relevant candidates.
Online Networking to Reach Job Candidates
As part of a long-term recruitment strategy, you may want to put a little time – and perhaps some money – into a networking process that could link you up with job candidates months or years from now. These online networking services are actively used by professionals at all levels, including executives. They’re probably most heavily trafficked by techies, but there are certainly many other industries represented by their users. Here are two "social networks" that might be of use; there are numerous others.
